Advertising Age is reporting that Sony Pictures Entertainment has purchased a package of 13 thirty-second spots for Fox's Superbowl and related broadcasts to promote its slate of 2002 movies, including Spider-Man. The package includes at least two ads to run during the Superbowl, with the others to run in pre- and post-game programming. The package was valued at $5 to $7 million. Other movies in Sony's pipeline for 2002 include Men in Black 2 and Stuart Little 2. Not revealed was which movies will be advertised during the game itself.
