Imagination Entertainment, which has produced a number of DVD-based board games that tie-in with popular mainstream properties such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Let's Make a Deal, is introducing a new game based on the groundbreaking BBC Planet Earth nature series, which aired in the U.S. on the Discovery Channel (and has sold over 1 million DVD sets).  In this highly educational game parents and kids answer trivia questions based on the Planet Earth videos in a number of categories that correspond with the environments profiled in the TV series ('pole to pole,' deserts/great plains, forest/jungles, etc.).

The Planet Earth DVD Board Game (MSRP $24.99) is designed for ages 8 and up.  It comes with a DVD of prime scenes culled from the BBC series -- and the DVD plays an integral role in the gameplay.  The game will be available at Wal-Mart in December and to all other retailers starting in January.
