Guardians of Order, the Ontario-based creator of RPGS for Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo, Ghost Dog, Dominion Tank Police and El Hazard, has forged a multi-year deal with Pioneer Entertainment to create a number of licensed anime fan guides for Pioneer distributed anime including Fushigi Yugi, and Serial Experiments Lain. The first book in the series, Serial Experiments Lain Ultimate Fan Guide will debut in October 2001. Subsequent titles will include anime series not yet released in North America, including NieA_7 and Soul Taker.
These reference guides will be 128 pages in length, with 80 full color pages. They will retail for $19.95 US and $28.95 CAN. The books will include detailed episode summaries, character profiles, and theme analysis. Along with hundreds of color images as well as lots of production line art, the Ultimate Guides will also include game stats for each character. These game stats will be compatible with Guardians of Order's Big Eyes, Small Mouth RPG.
The Ultimate Fan Anime Guides will be similar to Japanese anime resource guides. Guardians of Order is a natural to produce this type of material since it is so similar to the reference guides Guardians produces for its anime RPGS. In fact Pioneer and Guardians formed their relationship while working together on reference guides for Guardians Tenchi Muyo and El Hazard games (see 'Guardians of Order To Produce El-Hazard RPG').
