The Topps Company announced a 30th Anniversary licensing program for Garbage Pail Kids, which included licensees Funko, IDW Publishing, Steve Jackson Games, Mighty Fine, and Trick or Treat Studios.

Introduced in 1985 as a sticker card set, the property will celebrate its 30th birthday in 2015, and Topps will release the 30th Anniversary card set in July.

The first products in the new licensing stream have already been hitting the market.  Steve Jackson released its first limited edition game Garbage Pail Kids: Super Snot Shots at New York Comic Con (see “'Garbage Pail Kids' Games”), and IDW announced its comic license at San Diego Comic-Con (see “'Garbage Pail Kids' Come to Comics”), with the first issue, Garbage Pail Kids Puketacular #1, released in December.

Mighty Fine (apparel), Funko, and Steve Jackson Games will launch their product lines in Q2.

Topps plans a year-long marketing campaign including social media, public relations, and promotions.
