Veteran geek-TV actress Morena Baccarin has been cast as Wade Wilson’s love interest in Fox’s Deadpool film, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting.

Baccarin is best known in Hollywood circles for her recent role as Jessica Brody on Homeland, but she is better known to geek-TV fans as companion Inara Serra on Firefly, Adria on Stargate SG-1, Anna on V, and most recently as Dr. Leslie Thompkins on Gotham (see "DC TV Show Round-Up").

Baccarin will star opposite Ryan Reynolds in a cast that includes T.J. Miller and Gina Carano (see "Gina Carano & Colossus Joining New 'Deadpool' Film").  According to the THR article, the project is planning to begin shooting in March.  The film is currently planned for a February 12, 2016 theatrical release.
