At C2E2, Marvel made announcements about several Secret Wars one-shots, a new ongoing solo series for Guardians of the Galaxy member Drax the Destroyer, and other late summer releases.

Drax #1 will be written by wrestling and mixed martial arts star CM Punk/Phillip Brooks (Thor Annual).  The cover for issue #1 will be done by Ed McGuinness. Additional talent was not announced.  The series will follow Drax in his time away from the Guardians, which involves brawling in the intergalactic octagon and other solo adventures. Launch date was not announced.

Skottie Young and Jim Mahfood will partner on a Howard the Duck one-shot: Howard the Human, which will release in August.  The title will see Howard transformed into a human in a city filled with anthropomorphic animals, doing what he does best, working as a detective.

Marvel may be destroying the known universe, but that doesn’t mean love is dead.  Secret Wars: Secret Love #1 is a one-shot saluting romance comics.  Stories will include pairings of Daredevil and Typhoid Mary, Robbie Reyes (All-New Ghost Rider) and Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel),  and Ant-Man and Wasp.

Other Secret Wars one-shots include The Last Days of Ant-Man by Ant-Man team Nick Spencer and Ramon Rosanas, and Hank Johnson: Agent of Hydra by David Mandel and Michael Walsh.

Marvel also announced a September release for the new Miracleman comics by Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham (see “New 'Miracleman' Material in 2016”), according to CBR.

Captain America: White is a six-issue miniseries by Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale, which will launch in September, according to IGN.

The publisher announced several S.H.I.E.L.D. 50th Anniversary specials (see “Multiple Releases for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s 50th”).
