At the Geena Davis Institute’s Gender in Media Event last week, producer Deborah Snyder announced that the upcoming Wonder Woman solo feature will begin principal photography in November, and will include a mostly female crew.
“We’re really happy that we’ll be going into production in November,” Snyder said. “We’ve tried to hire as many female people on the crew as possible.” The film will be directed by Patty Jenkins (see “'Wonder Woman' Gets New Director”), with Snyder producing.
The film will star Gail Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, who will first appear in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (see “ New 'Batman V Superman' Images”), and Chris Pine will play her love interest (see “Chris Pine to Play Steve Trevor in 'Wonder Woman'”).
The movie will release in theater on June 23, 2017.
