Oni Press announced two original graphic novels for early 2017: the horror-themed The Damned: Three Days Dead and the humor collection Our Cats Are More Famous Than Us: A Johnny Wander Collection.

The Damned is written by Cullen Bunn with art by Brian Hurtt, who previously collaborated on the Eisner- and Harvey-nominated The Sixth Gun. The graphic novel kicks off a new ongoing horror series set during the Prohibition era. The 152-page, full-color trade paperback has an MSRP of $9.99, and the graphic novel is set for release on March 8, 2017. The ongoing series begins in May 2017.

Our Cats Are More Famous Than Us collects the autobiographical webcomics of writer Ananth Hirsh and artist Yuko Ota. Their charming cartoons are collected with an introduction by Smile creator Raina Telgemeier. The 416-page, full-color hardcover has an MSRP of $39.99. The book releases on March 29, 2017.

Bunn is on a bit of a hot streak. In addition to The Damned, he is also writing Marvel’s Monsters Unleashed (see “Marvel Unleashes the Monsters”) and the first collection of his Micronauts series is out in January from IDW (see “Micronauts Return From a Dying Universe”).
