Dynamite Entertainment will release synth-pop star Lights’ comic book series Skin & Earth, as part of the musician’s concept project Skin & Earth.

The comic series will be written and illustrated by Lights (Valerie Anne Poxleitner). The story follows the young woman, En, though a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where she must deal with cults, romance, gods, and mortals on her journey of self-discovery.  Each month, as a new issue is released, Lights will release a new track, leading to the full studio-album release from Warner Bros. in the fall. The first issue will premiere on July 12, ahead of San Diego Comic-Con.

"In recent years, the worlds of comic books and music have come together to produce some of the most exciting and immersive books on stands," says Dynamite CEO and publisher, Nick Barrucci. "To have the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated musician who is both writing and drawing the series herself will be a truly unique treat for both her fans and ours."

Lights is a Canadian singer/songwriter best known for her first album The Listening, which won her a Juno Award for Best New Artist in 2009. Her 2015 release Little Machines won the Juno Award for Pop Album of the Year.
