Hermes Press will release a monograph detailing the Gang of Seven Animation Studio works of respected horror illustrator Bernie Wrightson this fall.

Bernie Wrightson: Art and Designs for the Gang of Seven Animation Studio documents Wrightson’s extensive design work for the Animation Studio, including concept drawings, model sheets and project designs. The book presents scans of the original artwork from the studio archives.  It also includes an introductory essay, an interview, and photos from Wrightson’s time at the studio.

The 240-page, 8.5” x 11” landscape hardcover includes a printed laminated cover. MSRP is $60.00.

Wrightson was co-creator of Swamp Thing, and draw the poster for Stephen King’s film Creepshow. He spent seven years drawing pen-and-ink illustrations for an edition of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. He worked as a concept artist on Ghostbusters, Galaxy Quest, Spiderman, Land of the Dead, and The Mist. He died earlier this year (see “R.I.P. Bernie Wrightson”).
