Chaosium Inc. has announced that James Lowder has joined the company as its Executive Editor of Fiction.

Lowder has extensive experience both as a fiction writer and book publisher.  His writing credits include fantasy novels Prince of Lies and Knight of the Black Rose, as well as short works and role playing source material for Call of Cthulhu and Dungeons & Dragons.  He has also developed comic book scripts for Image, Moonstone, and DC.  His editorial experience includes a stint as executive editor at Green Knight and line editor for TSR, as well as acting as a consulting editor for Chaosium and heading up the company’s Madness on the Orient Express anthology. 

As Executive Editor of Fiction, Lowder will oversee Chaosium’s relaunch of its fiction line, which is scheduled to begin next year.

Chaosium recently announced plans for a revamped version of its role playing game RuneQuest (see “Chaosium Returns to Roots With ‘Runequest:  Roleplaying in Glorantha’”).
