BOOM! Studios has partnered with 20th Century Fox and DeVito Artworks, LLC to release a new crossover miniseries uniting the titans of primate pop culture:  King Kong and The Planet of the Apes.

Launching in November, the six-issue Kong on the Planet of the Apes will be written by Ryan Ferrier (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, The Fuse), with interior art by Carlos Magno (Planet of the Apes, Kong of Skull Island). Covers for issue #1 will be done by Mike Huddleston, Magno, and Has Woody.

Set just after the Planet of the Apes film (1968), Dr. Zaius and General Ursus journey into the Forbidden Zone with a small force to destroy evidence of the humans’ visit. On their way, they encounter a Kong.  They must then travel to Skull Island to discover how the Kong arrived, but the journey there won’t be easy.

BOOM! recently finished a Kong of Skull Island comic series based on Joe DeVito’s Skull Island (see “'Kong of Skull Island' Miniseries”). The publisher also produces Planet of the Apes comics, both old and new (see “Take Your Stinking Paws Off My Crossover,” “Classic 1970s 'Terror on the POTA' Returns,” and “'War for POTA' Prequel Comic Series.”)
