New York Comic Con News: DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Records will release a soundtrack inspired by DC’s Dark Nights: Metal event.

“As both a musician and fan of heavy metal music, having a soundtrack for Dark Nights: Metal is pretty awesome,” said series artist Greg Capullo. “I really like the concept of having hard-driving, heavy music as a complement to the incredible story that Scott (Snyder) and I are telling.”

Tyler Bates and Mike Elizondo will produce the six-track EP soundtrack. Bates, lead guitarist for Marilyn Manson, has composed and produced music for such keep movie franchises as Watchmen, 300 and Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as TV and video games. Elizondo, who is Senior VP of A&R at Warner Bros. Records, who has worked with hip-hop artists including Dr. Dre and Eminem, will co-produce the soundtrack. Release date and MSRP were not announced at this time.

Issue #3 of Dark Nights: Metal releases on October 11.

The miniseries by Snyder and Capullo launched in August (see “'Dark Nights' for Batman”) and has been accompanied by several tie-ins (see “Evil Batmans Invade DC's 'Dark Nights: Metal'” and “DC 'Dark Knights' Introduces 'Dark Matter'”).
