In February, the combatants of the fighting game Mortal Kombat X will enter the Universal Fighting System from Jasco Games in the Sub-Zero vs. Scorpion 2-player Turbo Box as well as Mortal Kombat X Collectible Card Game Booster Packs.

Jasco acquired a license to produce games based on Mortal Kombat, one of the longest-running and most-popular computer fighting games, in 2015 (see “Jasco Games Acquires ‘Dragon Ball Z,’ ‘Cowboy Bebop’”).  This UFS set focuses exclusively on the characters of Mortal Kombat X, the latest version of the video game.

The Mortal Kombat X Collectible Card Game Sub-Zero vs. Scorpion 2-player Turbo Box comes with two complete pre-built decks for the game, providing two players with everything they need to start playing.  Each deck includes 41 cards, and the set also features two random Ultra Rare cards from the larger Mortal Kombat X Collectible Card Game set.  MSRP is $24.99.

The game will also be available in 10-card booster packs with an MSRP of $3.99 each.  Booster packs will be sold in 24-pack display boxes.  At least one UFS starter deck or turbo deck is needed to use the new cards.

The launch of the Mortal Kombat X Collectible Card Game will be supported by a Release Kit and a Pre-Release Kit.  The Pre-Release Kit includes eight booster displays and the Release Kit comes with six booster displays and eight turbo boxes.  In addition, both kits include four exclusive playmats and two sets of 10 full art character cards for the game.

Next month, Jasco will release a UFS set based on the anime series Cowboy Bebop (see “‘Cowboy Bebop’ Joins ‘UFS’”).
