Disney’s acquisition of key Fox assets, including the movie and TV studios, moved closer over the past day.  One impediment, a second bidder, faded as Comcast announced that it was no longer considering a deal, although it doesn't sound like Fox was ever that serious about Comcast. “We never got the level of engagement needed to make a definitive offer,” Comcast said in a statement.

An announcement could come as early as Thursday, CNBC reported today.

Talks between Disney and Fox accelerated after both companies hired investment bankers to work on the deal last week (see “Disney-Fox Talks Move Into Higher Gear”).
