Marvel has revealed the fifth member of the reunited Exiles: Valkyrie.  The version of Valkyrie from writer Saladin Ahmed hews more closely to Tessa Thompson’s portrayal in Thor: Ragnarok than it does to the blonde warrior created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema.  But Ahmed and artist Javier Rodriguez have made the character more physically imposing than Thompson’s 5'4".

"Like everyone else who has seen Taika Waititi’s brilliant Thor: Ragnarok movie, all of us on Team Exiles are big fans of Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie," said Exiles editor Wil Moss.  "So, when we realized that we had the perfect series -- where the roster is made up of alternate reality versions of Marvel heroes -- to introduce a comic book equivalent of that version of Valkyrie, we jumped at the chance!"

In the series, Valkyrie will join original Exiles team leader Blink, Khan, Iron Lad, and Wolvie in the battle against a new threat to the multiverse (see "Exiled No More").

Exiles #1, which features covers from Rodriguez, David Marquez, Mike McKone, and Jesus Saiz, will be in stores on April 11.  The second issue follows two weeks later on April 25.
