Nickelodeon has released the first images for their reimagined Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  The whole gang appears in the teasers for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and if the artwork has a Samurai Jack feel, it’s undoubtedly due to character designer Andy Suriano, who worked on both projects (see “Nickelodeon Reboots 'TMNT' Cartoon”).  The series will debut later this year.

One notable difference: intrepid reporter April O’Neil is depicted as black for the very first time in the franchise’s history.  Voice talent for the show includes Omar Miller (Ballers) as Raphael, Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as Leonardo, Josh Brener (Silicon Valley) as Donatello, Brandon Mychal Smith (You’re The Worst) as Michelangelo, and Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) as April O’Neil.
