Dark Horse Comics is planning two launches of Margaret Atwood comic material this year, as her profile is lifted by events in other media.  Three-issue comic miniseries War Bears, by Atwood and Eisner Award-winning artist Ken Steacy, will launch with the first comic issue on September 5, at $4.99.  The historical fiction, set in Toronto in the 40s, tells the story of a Canadian comic creator trying to make it big in the Golden Age of comics in the war years and after.

The Complete Angel Catbird will collect all three volumes of the OGN series (see “Margaret Atwood Pens First OGN Series”) into a 320-page hardcover volume at $24.99, planned for release October 3, 2018.

Atwood’s profile has been exploding recently.  This year sees the release of the first season of The Handmaid’s Tale, the Hulu adaptation of her most famous work, on DVD/BD (this month, see “DVD Round-Up”), and the airing of the second season on Hulu beginning in April.
