Scooter Braun, the famed music manager of Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Ariana Grande, and one-time Marvel Studios President David Maisel, have formed Mythos Studios, and are developing at least two projects based on Aspen Comics properties: Soulfire and Fathom. The studio acquired 50% of Aspen, which was formed by the late Michael Turner (see "R.I.P. Michael Turner").
Soulfire was optioned by The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd (see "’Soulfire’ Optioned") back in 2009, and Megan Fox was attached to an adaptation of Fathom the same year (see "Foxy Star for 'Fathom'"), but the properties are now with Mythos.
Maisel brings an impressive pedigree. After becoming Marvel Studios’ first President in 2004 (see "Marvel Hires New Studio President"), he developed the innovating financing plan that allowed Marvel to own its own movies (see "The ‘Secret Origin’ of Marvel Studios"). He left Marvel after the Disney acquisition and spent some time at Rovio, where he made the Angry Birds movie (see "Rovio Hires Ex-Marvel Honcho David Maisel").
