Daily Magic Games will release Villages of Valeria: Landmarks in 2019.
Villages of Valeria is a casual fantasy card game where players build a town that they hope will be the next capital city of Valeria (see "Return to Valeria in 'Villages of Valeria'"). While Daily Magic has supported the game with small expansion packs (see "First 'Villages of Valeria' Expansions"), Landmarks will be the first full expansion. In a normal game, players can choose to follow the active player’s lead action, but with Landmarks a player cannot or does not want to follow the lead action, they can build a landmark as their "follow" action. Landmarks are not Buildings, but they will be worth victory points at the end of the game. There are also Adventurer cards that are triggered by Landmarks, offering villages new powers; and Architect cards will give players hidden end-game bonus points.
The tuck box includes 35 wooden tokens, 24 building cards, 5 landmark cards, 6 architect cards, 5 adventurer cards, and 6 dividers. MSRP is $15.00. A Villages of Valeria Deluxe Box, which will hold all previous VoV releases – sleeved, and including 8 token wells, is also being offered as part of the Kickstarter, but retail release is currently not scheduled for this version. The game is for 1 – 5 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 minutes.
The Kickstarter has raised more than $58,000 from more than 1,500 backers as of this writing, well over it’s $15,000 goal. It will continue through May 18. There is a retailer backer level for a case of 24 expansions in tuck boxes. Fulfillment is planned for February, with trade release for the Landmarks Tuck Box to follow.
Daily Magic is also releasing a dark expansion for another game set in the same universe later this year (see "Darkness Descends on the Kingdom of Valeria").
