Valiant Entertainment will release the massive, 880-page X-O Manowar Compendium One on August 22.

The series that relaunched the Valiant Universe is now being collected in a paperback collection. The company has issued hardcover omnibuses for its classic comics, and a compendium for Harbinger Wars, but this is the first time Valiant has immortalized a single character in a comprehensive edition in this manner.

The collection will include X-O Manowar (2012) #1 – 29. Unity (2013) #1 -4, and Armor Hunters #1 – 4.  The collection includes stories by Robert Venditti and Matt Kindt, and art by Cary Nord, Doug Braithwaite, Lee Gabett, Diego Bernard, and Trevor Hairsine among others. The cover is drawn by Paolo Rivera.

Aric of Dacia was born in the time of the Roman Empire, and during a battle with the Romans, he was abducted by an alien race and forced into slavery on a strange planet. He survived, and managed to escape by bonding with the X-O Manowar armor. When he returns to Earth, he finds space-time has shifted, and he has landed in the modern world.

MSRP is $59.99.
