There have been several licensing announcements this week that will see popular brands brought to the game table.

River Horse Ltd.  has partnered with Lions Game Entertainment to release a board game based on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay film. The Hunger games: Mockingjay – The Board Game is a strategic game where 2 – 4 players must use their wits and resources to either free or control Panam in the wake of the Quarter Quell. River Horse will fund the game with a Kickstarter launching October 1.

Free League Publishing, makers of the Tales from the Loop RPG (released in the U.S. by Modiphius Entertainment – see “'Tales From the Loop' Adapted for Series”), plans to release Things from the Flood, a standalone expansion RPG also based on an art book by Simon Stalenhag. Things from the Flood is set in the same universe as the other RPG, but is set in a dark alternate 1990s, where the players are now teenagers, living in the bleak universe. Also, characters can die. Free League will launch a Kickstarter to fund the game on September 18.

Lucky Duck has licensed Kobojo’s Mutants: Genetic Gladiators  mobile PVP arena battle game to release a card game version. Mutants: Genetic Gladiators The Card Game will be funded by a Kickstarter campaign in Q3.

WizKids also announced a multi-year licensing partnership today with WWE (see “WizKids Tag Teams With WWE”).
