When CMON launches its highly anticipated Cthulhu:  Death May Die board game, it will be supported by four expansion sets releasing at the same time:  Death May Die:  Season 2, Black Goat of the Woods, Yog Sothoth, and the Extra Dice set.

Announced last year (see “Daviau and Lang Take on ‘Cthulhu’”) and racking up an impressive $2,412,286 Kickstarter campaign, Cthulhu:  Death May Die is a fully cooperative board game in which already-insane investigators compete with sinister cultists to unleash one of the Elder Gods upon the world so they can destroy it in its moment of weakness.

Details for the retail version of the game have been revealed.  The core game will include 45 miniatures, 17 tiles, 1 story board, 10 investigator dashboards, 188 cards, 8 custom dice, 5 miniature bases, 30 tentacles, and 147 tokens.  The game will be for 1 to 5 players, ages 14 and up, and takes 90 to 120 minutes to play.  MSRP is $99.99.

Alongside the core game, CMON will release four expansion sets:

The Season 2 Expansion will add additional storylines and adventure options to the game.  In this set, a new cult has risen up and begun their own ritual to summon yet another Elder One, who must also be stopped at all costs.  It includes six new Episode boxes, each with new monsters and cultists, as well as new location tiles and investigators.

The expansion comes with 8 tiles, 27 miniatures, 10 investigator dashboards, 69 tokens, and 150 cards.  MSRP is $64.99.

The Black Goat of the Woods introduces Shub-Niggurath and her horrific Dark Young to the game as a new Elder God to fight against.  Like the Elder Gods in the base game, she can be combined with any Episode box to create a completely different gameplay scenario.

Black Goat of the Woods includes 7 miniatures and 13 cards.  MSRP is $24.99.

Similarly, Yog Sothoth adds the mysterious and all-knowing creature of that name.  When Yog Sothoth is in play, multiple gates can appear, and its minion Wilbur Whateley adds an additional challenge for the players.

Yog Sothoth comes with 2 miniatures, 13 cards, and 6 tokens.  MSRP is $24.99.

Rounding out the new releases will be the Extra Dice Pack for Cthulhu:  Death May Die, which offers a complete set of dice for use with the game.  This pack has three basic black dice and five special green dice.  MSRP is $9.99.
