GW released an update on some of the issues they are experiencing in the ever-changing global business climate, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the effects of Brexit. COVID-19 had a profound impact on the day-to-day operations of GW stores in 2020 (see "PRO: COVID-19 Channel Check: Games Workshop Store"), despite their reported overall growth in sales through the beginning of pandemic (see "Games Workshop Shrugs Off COVID Shutdown"). In this update, GW stated that they are anticipating a shipping delay for products ordered in December and January due the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, they revealed that there will be less Warhammer releases for January and February than in previous years with the first preorders of the new year set to be unveiled on January 16.
However, GW had some good news for EU customers who had concerns about how Brexit would affect the prices of imported Warhammer products. GW announced that will be paying any customs or duties fees that get applied to EU orders until the relationship between the UK and the EU becomes more solidified.
