In this game, players can take on the role of either the Japanese or Allied side of the Pacific War to conduct a campaign of attacks starting from the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941 and ending with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. The game takes place across 16 phase-based turns where players attempt destroy enemy units and outwit their opponent. To win the game, players need to use transportation points to supply their units and score the most victory points by the end of the game.
The game box contains a rulebook, a game board, 10 six-sided dice, a Battle board, and two player aids. Fire in the Sky is for two players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 120 minutes.
Ares Games will also release Rocketmen, a new deck-building game by Phalanx Games, into U.S. trade in March 2021 (see "Blast Off Into Space With Martin Wallace's 'Rocketmen'").
