BOOM! Studios will launch Getting Dizzy, a new four-issue limited series by writer Shea Fontana (DC Super Hero Girls) and artist Celia Moscote (Juliet Takes a Breath), in November under its BOOM! Box imprint. The story revolves around a roller-skating girl, Dizzy, who can’t seem to do anything right. When creatures called the Negatrixes attack her suburban town, Dizzy not only becomes a superhero but pulls together a team of her fellow skaters to save the day. The first issue will have a main cover by Moscote and variant covers by Cara McGee (Dodge City, Black Canary: Ignite) and Miguel Mercado, who signed a 20-cover deal with BOOM! last year (see “BOOM! Studios Announces Another Cover Artist Signing”).

Fontana has written a number of Super Hero Girls graphic novels, starting with the first one (see “DC Launches Girls IP, Announces First OGN”) and has also written Wonder Woman (see “‘Super Hero Girls’ Writer Takes Over ‘Wonder Woman’”), Polly Pocket, Batman: Overdrive and DC: Women of Action (see “Shea Fontana Pens ‘DC: Women of Action’”); she is also the showrunner of the Monster High animated series. Celia Moscote is the artist for the graphic adaptation of Gabby Rivera’s Juliet Takes a Breath and also worked on the animated film Tina and the Gucci Flip Flop.
