Marvel Entertainment has created a special comic book that will be an incentive for New Yorkers to get the COVID-19 vaccine, Variety reports.

The special comic is part of a campaign designed by Henry R. Munoz III, the head of the Funny or Die studio and also the co-founder of SOMOS Community Care, which is providing the vaccinations. The campaign, which aims to promote vaccination in communities of color, also includes posters and in-person events with Black, Latino and Asian primary care physicians. It kicked off with a pop-up vaccination clinic in Times Square on Wednesday that featured doctors and costumed superheroes who helped the children who were getting vaccinated. The clinic will remain there for two months, PIX 11 reported, and everyone, adult or child, who gets vaccinated there will get a copy of the comic. (It can also be read online at the SOMOS Vaccinations site.)

The creative team for the comic, Marvel Avengers: We Are Resilient, included writer Henry Barajas (recently appointed Sales Manager at Oni Press), artist Craig Rousseau, colorist Chris Sotomayor, letterer Joe Sabino, and editor Jann Jones, all of whom Barajas credited in a Tweet.
