Heritage Auctions announced that their total auction sales for 2022 exceeded their 2021 sales, setting a new auction sales record for the company.

In 2022, Heritage logged $1.45 billion in auction sales. This eclipses the $1.4 billion in sales reported in 2021 by Heritage (see "Billion-Dollar Sales Mark in 2021"). They also reported shattering records in over 50 categories, with one of the biggest ticket items being Russian journalist Dmitry Muratov's Nobel Peace Prize medal, which sold for $103.5 million, all of which went directly to UNICEF to aid refugees impacted by the war in Ukraine.

On the comics and game-related sales side of these numbers, there were a few major sales of note. Heritage set an original comic art record with the sale of the original black and white comic artwork from page 25 from 1984's Secret Wars #8 for $3.36 million on January 13, 2022 (see "Comic Art Breaks U.S. Record "). At the same auction,  a CGC 6.0 "Rocket Copy" of Action Comics #1 (see "Pre-Auction Bidding on 'The Rocket Copy'") went for $3.18 million. For games, the biggest sale was a PSA 9 Pokemon TCG "Pikachu" Illustrator Unnumbered 1998 CoroCoro Comics Promo that sold for $840,000 in June (see "Promo Card Sells for $840,000 at Heritage").
