Dynamite Entertainment will continue to expand its line of comics based on Disney characters with Maleficent, which will launch in May with art and story by Soo Lee.  This is Dynamite’s third comic series based on Disney animation characters, following Gargoyles (see "Dynamite Gets ‘Gargoyles’") and Darkwing Duck (see "Dynamite Nabs ‘Darkwing Duck’").

The Maleficent character was introduced in Disney’s animated Sleeping Beauty feature, released in 1959.  This will be the first appearance of the character in a solo comic series.  The story will feature a look into the character’s past, before her appearance in Sleeping Beauty.

Soo Lee will provide story, art, and colors; letters will be by Jeff Eckleberry.  Lee will do the A cover, with others by Jae Lee, Jennifer L. Meyer, Rebeca Puebla, and Erica D’Urso.
