Oni Press has announced that covers A and D of Jay Stephens’ Dwellings #1 will be allocated up to 10% at the distributor level. All orders for covers B and C will be completely filled, and more copies of these covers are available for immediate reorder. The allocation will not affect whether a retailer qualifies for the 1:10 incentive cover. The comic will be released on August 9, 2023.
A Third Printing variant has been added with an FOC of August 7; that comic will be available on September 6, ahead of the second issue of the bimonthly series.
Oni Press President and Publisher Hunter Gorinson informed retailers directly of the allocation at the Diamond Retailer Appreciation Lunch at San Diego Comic-Con. Stephens, whose Jetcat Clubhouse was published by Oni in 2002, has successfully crowdfunded the comic, and Oni is releasing it as a bimonthly series of three 72-page comics priced at $9.99 per issue. The comic is a horror story told in the style of Harvey comics. "If you were to combine the R-rated horror intensity of Something Is Killing the Children with Wendy the Good Witch, syou would get Dwellings," Gorinson said.
Under Oni’s returnability program (see "Oni Announces New Direct Market Returnability Program"), the issue will be returnable for retailers who order five or more copies.
