President of Marvel Comics and Franchise Dan Buckley will be the keynote speaker at the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting, the organization announced today. Buckley joined Marvel in 1991, and served as publisher from 2003 until 2017, when he ascended to his President role (see “Dan Buckley Promoted to President”).
The February event, which will mark the 20th anniversary of the organization, will be held in Pittsburgh for the second year (see “ComicsPRO Annual Meeting Returns to Pittsburgh”). It’s expected to be the biggest such event ever, according to ComicsPRO President of the Board Jenn Haines. “At the annual meeting, not only do we learn about new products, but we're able to learn from each other to help us run our stores better,” she said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “It's also the best place to have direct conversations with publishers and distributors so that we can work toward industry-wide solutions. This is going to be our biggest meeting ever!”
The event dates are February 22-24, 2024. Platinum Sponsors include BOOM! Studios, ComicHub Limited, DC Comics, Diamond Comic Distributors, DSTLRY, Lunar Distribution, Marvel Comics, PRH Distribution, and Scholastic, with another 40+ companies, including ICv2, participating in the meeting.
