BINC has awarded two new retailer scholarships to the 2024 ComicsPRO Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, and will honor a deferred scholarship for a 2023 designee. The scholarship gives each retailer $750 for travel, replacement wages, lodging and meals; ComicsPRO waives the registration fee. BINC began taking applications in January (see "BINC Offers Two Grants").
The scholarships went to Miranda Nordell at Dreamers & Make-Believers Books in Baltimore and Drew Sullivan at Ash Avenue Comics & Books in Tempe, Arizona. Jean Michel at Megabrain Comics in Rhinebeck, New York, will be attending the event on his 2023 scholarship, which was deferred.
This year’s ComicsPRO Annual Meeting is taking on a larger role this year in the wake of the cancellation of the Diamond Comic Distributors Retailers Summit (see "Diamond Cancels Summit"). Marvel Comics President Dan Buckley will deliver the keynote address (see "Marvel President To Deliver Keynote").
