The Year of the Dragon roared in with fresh Hollywood News.  Time for a round-up!

Crunchyroll released an official English dub trailer for Spy x Family - Code: White (see trailer below).  This movie, based on the popular manga and anime series (see "Kids Graphic Novels"), will release into theaters on April 19, 2024.

Marvel Studios provided a brief excerpt of a full-length Deadpool & Wolverine teaser in an ad during the Super Bowl.  The release date was moved to July 26, 2024 last fall (see "Marvel Rescheduling").

20th Century Studios also ran a Super Bowl ad for its new Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes trailer. An initial teaser was released last fall (see "’Kingdom of the PotA’ Teaser").  The film will be released May 10, 2024.

Elon Musk’s X (Twitter), is funding Gina Carano’s lawsuit against Disney, in which the MMA star-turned-actress is suing Disney alleging wrongful termination from The Mandalorian streaming series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Carano was fired after sharing a social media post that compared being a modern Republican to the experiences of Jewish people during the Holocaust (see "Critical Shake Up").  "As a sign of X Corp’s commitment to free speech, we’re proud to provide financial support for Gina Carano’s lawsuit," X head of business operations Joe Benarroch said in a statement released by the company."

The Walt Disney Company's Q1 2024 earnings presentation revealed that The Mandalorian and Grogu movie (see "Mandalorian & Grogu' Feature") is tentatively scheduled to release in 2026.  There are two reserved dates that could fit the bill; Disney had previously tagged May 22, 2026 and December 18, 2026 for untitled Star Wars film releases (see "Best in Shows -- 2026").

HBO is developing a new Game of Thrones: House of Dragon spinoff, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The new spinoff is rumored to be centered around Aegon's Conquest of Westeros, and HBO has attached The Batman scribe Mattson Tomlin to the project (see "'Batman: The Imposter' #1").

Percy Jackson and The Olympians has been renewed for S2 at Disney, according to Variety.  The Season 1 of this show passed 26 million views by mid-January 2024 (see "'Percy Jackson").

There is a new Predator movie in the works at 20th Century, according to Deadline.  The new standalone feature, Badlands, is set to starting shooting this year and Dan Trachtenberg, who directed Prey (see "New 'Predator' Feature Sets Record"), is attached to the project as writer and director.
