Oni Press announced three additions to its EC Comics line (see "Oni to Launch EC Comics Line"), after its launch drew big numbers.

Epitaphs From the Abyss has been extended from its original five-issue run to a 12-issue monthly series.  Creators for stories in upcoming issues include Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead), Corinna Bechko (Green Lantern: Earth One), Matt Bors (Toxic Avenger), Chris Condon (That Texas Blood), Matt Kindt (BRZRKR), Matthew Rosenberg (DC Vs. Vampires), Mark Russell (X-Factor), Tim Seeley (Local Man), Jay Stephens (Dwellings), Joanne Starer (Sirens of the City), and Alexandre Tenfengki (The Good Asian).  All issues will have covers by Eisner Award nominee Lee Bermejo (Joker).

Said Oni Press President & Publisher Hunter Gorinson, "It's safe to say the full-blooded return of EC Comics to store shelves worldwide has exceeded even our own aggressive expectations to become Oni Press' biggest Direct Market launch in a decade.  We owe a huge debt of thanks to the fans, creators, and retailers who have supported this righteous resurrection for one of the most iconic and influential publishing houses in the history of the comics medium."  Oni stated that over 65,000 copies were sold of the first issue of Epitaphs From the Abyss.  This success may have been bolstered by a "sizable overprint”; an announcement that the first issues would not be reprinted (see "No Reprints on First EC Releases"); and returnability (see "Oni to Make First EC Issues Returnable").
 

Second, in December, Oni will release Shiver SuspenStories #1, a 56-page special issue.  It’s planned as the first in a series of extra-sized specials containing horror, science fiction, and combat stories. Creators for this Christmas special include writers Jason Aaron (Thor) and Ben H. Winters (CBS' Tracker) and artists David Lapham (Stray Bullets) and Kano (Gotham Central).  The special will have covers by Adam Hughes (Wonder Woman) and Darick Robertson (The Boys) and also include a remastered EC holiday story reprint.

Third, following the five-issue run of Cruel Universe, Oni will release the four-issue Cruel Kingdom, beginning in January 2025. This dark fantasy anthology will involve stories of magic, wizardry, and of course, murder.  Creators include writers Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun), Chris Condon (That Texas Blood), Dennis Culver (Unstoppable Doom Patrol), Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk), and Justin Jordan (The Strange Talent of Luther Strode), with art by Leomacs (Rogues) and more.  Covers are by Adam Pollina (X-Force) and others.
