Restoration Games will release Crossbows and Catapults: Fortress War, a new edition of the classic board game, into retail on October 2, 2024.
Crossbows & Catapults: Fortress War is a new, restored edition of the classic 1983 game, Crossbows and Catapults by Ray Frigard and Henri Sala. The reboot of this game is the result of a collaboration between Restoration Games and Goliath Games, and had been originally offered via a Kickstarter (see "'Crossbows & Catapults' Reborn"). In this game, players build up their castle, and like in the original, they take turns using their weapons to fire discs at their opponent’s castle to attempt to knock it down. The new version of the game offers players better constructed weapons, detailed building bricks, and deeper game play.
The Fortress War retail version includes mercenary miniatures. It is for two players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 20 to 30 minutes. This game will retail for $89.95.
