IDW has confirmed that it laid off two employees this week, a relatively minor downsizing that continues a series of steps IDW has been taking to bring its expenses in line with its revenues (see "IDW Reports Losses"). "IDW has made the difficult decision to reduce staff as part of ongoing efforts to streamline operations," the company said in response to a request for comment. "We appreciate the contributions of those affected and wish them the best in their future endeavors."
The most recent previous downsizing was in September, when IDW laid off four people, including the Co-Publisher (see "Co-Publisher Laid Off").
Earlier this week, Dark Horse Comics confirmed layoffs at the company (see "Dark Horse Confirms Layoffs").
Neither company specifically attributed the recent Diamond Comic Distributors Chapter 11 filing (see "Diamond Files"), but it can’t be helping.
