ICv2, once again, went on its annual trip to AdeptiCon, which took place on March 26 through March 30, 2025. AdeptiCon is one of the largest miniatures conventions in North America.
This is was the first year for Adepticon at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The convention had previously been held at Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois. AdeptiCon had clearly been outgrowing its former home in Schaumburg for a few years now, with attendance on the rise and the convention's parking capacity shrinking (see "AdeptiCon Moving").
Ironically enough, convention organizers' answer to finding a new home for AdeptiCon was to move it to the old home of Gen Con, the Baird Center (formerly the Wisconsin Center). The convention center had been built up over the years to include another building that was attached to the older building where the "floating truck dock" used to be on the third floor. The city of Milwaukee was once again bustling with gamers, and the new local bars and eateries, which had mostly been established since Gen Con's exit in 2002, were stunned that they were making over $15,000 on a Wednesday night without a Bucks home game being scheduled for that day.
The convention, itself, was once again a miniatures enthusiasts' "Christmas, New Year's, and birthday all wrapped into one," except now bigger and more expansive. ICv2 toured the convention floor to see what's new.
