Penguin Random House has expanded its licensing relationship with Disney Publishing to include manga, reference books, and fiction with content from Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, and National Geographic, the companies announced. The new agreements are an expansion of past licensing agreements between PRH and Disney over the past two decades.
Manga and reference books featuring properties from the intellectual property conglomerate are currently spread among a variety of licensees, including PRH, VIZ Media (see "Middle-Grade Spider-Man Manga"), Dark Horse Comics (see "’New Star Wars Book in the Works”), and Tokyopop (see "New ‘NBX’ Color Editions"). It's not known at this point whether any of those licenses are affected by the new Disney-PRH agreements, or if the new PRH licenses are for a segment of the market not previously addressed.
