Dark Horse Comics parent Embracer Group has provided more details on its plan to spin off more assets, leaving a smaller company with a new name behind, with its quarterly earnings report. The break-up of the company was first announced over a year ago (see "Embracer to Spin Off Asmodee"); Asmodee was spun off into a new public company in February (see "Asmodee Spin-Off Dates Set").
A date has now been set for the spin-off of Coffee Stain Group, which will hold some of the group's videogame company assets: by the end of calendar 2025.
At that point, the remaining company, originally planned to be called Middle Earth & Friends, will be renamed Fellowship Entertainment. It will remain a publicly listed company under the new name. Intellectual property rights controlled by the group will include The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Tomb Raider, and over 300 additional gaming IPs. Among the assets in the group will be publisher and entertainment company Dark Horse.
