Thirty-five year comic industry veteran George Perez will appear as a Guest of Honor at the 2009 New York Comic Con in support of the Hero Initiative, which provides a financial safety net for comic creators. Although details are still being finalized, his appearance will center around a special workshop benefiting the charity to be held on Saturday, February 7th. Perez is chairman of the Hero Initiative. The appearance at NYCC will be Perez’s first con appearance in almost two years.
Perez joins J. Michael Straczynski, who was previously announced as a GoH for the show (see “JMS on 'Forbidden Planet'”). Featured Guests include:
