Con veteran Peter Tatara has been promoted to the newly created position of Vice President of Anime Events at boutique event promoter LeftField Media, the company announced. Tatara will manage upcoming launch shows Anime NYC, planned for the Javits Center this Fall (see “LeftField Announces New Anime Show for New York”) and Crunchyroll Expo, launching in Santa Clara, California in August (see “Crunchyroll Announces New Anime Con”). 

Tatara will also develop anime content for LeftField’s comic conventions, Awesome Con in Washington DC, and Rose City Comic Con in Portland, Oregon. 

Tatara, who got his start at anime and manga company Central Park Media, had a seven year stint at Reed Exhibitions/ReedPOP, ending as International Director, Content and Marketing.  He moved to LeftField two years ago after a short run at Azix Inc., which organized the Japan Week festival at Grand Central Terminal in New York City (see “NYCC Content Director Goes to Company Started by Former Reed Exec”).
