DC Comcis will celebrate 1000 issues of Action Comics with a deluxe hardcover this fall. The Action Comics #1000 hardcover will be in stores on September 26 for an MSRP of $19.99.
The volume will reprint the 80-page landmark issue, which includes Brian Michael Bendis’s first published work for DC (see "Superman Dons His Red Trunks for 'Action Comics' #1000"), as well as scripts for the stories in the issue. The collection also includes a gallery of 18 retailer variant covers and eight decade-themed variants, images of the original art for the Curt Swan-illustrated story that Marv Wolfman scripted, a Paul Levitz and Neal Adams story from Action Comics: 80 Years of Superman (see "DC to Release Lost Siegel and Shuster Superman Story"), and sketches from Jim Lee. Finally, the Action Comics #1000 deluxe hardcover reprints the first two issues of the seminal comics series that introduced the world to Superman, originally published in 1938.
