Alliance Game Distributors will resume operations on Monday, May 18, after an eight-week shutdown, parent company Geppi Family Enterprises announced.  The start-up will happen around the same time as sister company Diamond Comic Distributors resumes shipments for release May 20 (see “Diamond To Resume Weekly New Product Distribution”), a date which the company confirmed Friday.

The start-up comes roughly eight weeks after GFE companies halted most operations the third week of March (see “Diamond Halting New Product, Alliance Shutting Down ”).

GFE company operations will still be affected by coronavirus shut-downs, the company said in its announcement.  Some distribution centers may not open at the same time as others due to local government reopening guidance, and those that open will operate with reduced team sizes to allow social distancing and improved sanitation measures.

Alliance has operations in Baltimore, Maryland, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Austin, Texas, Visalia, California, and El Cerrito, California.

Diamond has distribution centers in Plattsburgh, New York and Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Most GFE office-based employees will continue to work remotely.
