Back in December 2020, IDW and Toho International, Inc. inked a publishing deal (see " IDW and Toho International, Inc. Ink Monster 'Godzilla' Deal  "), and this is among the first wave of comics to be released.  This giant-sized first issue features Godzilla in "Rise Up!" Part 1 where a businessman uses an untested element to create clean energy for a profit and accidently awakens the King of Monsters.  Godzilla comes after humanity as a result of the threat the energy poses to the planet, and it's up to three middle-school students to help Godzilla see that humans shouldn't be destroyed.

This book is written by Erik Burnham with art by Dan Schoening, and coloring by Luis Antonio Delgado.  The main cover art is provided by Dan Schoening, Cover B will be a photo cover, and there will also be a retailer incentive cover by Vic Hollins. It will retail for $4.99.
