Alien Books, which publishes Valiant comics and other titles, has a new Editor-in-Chief and Director of Communications, the company announced.
Lysa Hawkins has been promoted to Editor-in-Chief. Hawkins joined Valiant as an editor in 2018 (see “Valiant Hires Lysa Hawkins”), after working in that role at both DC Comics and Marvel Comics. Her next big project at Alien Books is the fall crossover event Resurgence of the Valiant Universe (see “Resurgence”).
Alien Books has hired Ron Cacace as Director of Communications, the company announced. Cacace has been tasked with directing strategy for communications for Alien Books, managing press relations, and driving Valiant fan engagement on social media and at conventions.
Cacace was previously at Archie Comics for over seven years, first as Digital Marketing Manager, then Director of Publicity and Social Media (see “Archie Promotes”). He also wrote their webcomic, Bite-Sized Archie (see “Archie Webcomic Comes to Print”).
Alien and Valiant announced their partnership a year ago, in June 2023 (see “Valiant and Alien Books Form New Partnership”).
