Disney Lorcana TCG Gateway, the new entry-level starter set for Ravensburger’s trading card game, is now available at Target stores and will be released to other retailers starting on August 9.
Announced back in January (see “Ravensburger Teases ‘Disney Lorcana’ 2024 Lineup”), Gateway is intended to offer a jumping-on point for players new to the game by incorporating elements of board games to smooth the learning process. It uses a progressive learning system to introduce core elements over a series of plays. Each segment of the rules offers a QR code that players can use to see video instructions as well.
Disney Lorcana TCG Gateway includes everything two players need to play through the graduated instructions and build playable 60-card Lorcana decks. It will include a game board, two 30-card starting decks, four 18-card reward packs, 30 damage counters, two double-sided character movers with bases, a rulebook, a guidebook with QR codes, and two deck tips pamphlets. It is intended for ages 8 and up. MSRP is $24.99.

Ravensburger has also announced the D23 Collection set for release at D23 and select Disney locations (see “Ravensburger Unveils ‘Disney Lorcana TCG D23 Collection’ Set”) and the fifth booster set, Shimmering Skies, also set to launch on August 9 (see “Ravensburger Announces Fifth ‘Disney Lorcana’ Set”). That date is also when the errata to the Bucky, Squirrel Squeak Tutor card takes effect (see “Ravensburger Errata’s ‘Disney Lorcana’s’ Menacing Squirrel”).
