Brian Michael Bendis is wrapping up his Marvel titles in anticipation of his move to DC (see “Marvel’s Top Writer Signs with DC”). Bendis, who was recently hospitalized with a serious MRSA infection (see “Bendis Leaves Hospital”), has been sharing updates on social media, promising fans that he’ll end his run with Marvel with as much “love & gusto” as he started.

“My last Marvel comic will be Iron Man 600 and it’s big,” Bendis wrote on Twitter after reassuring fans that the titles he writes will have a definitive conclusion or will set up the characters for their next adventure. “In many ways and on many levels… it’s kind of the perfect end to my Time,” he added on Tumblr. He will leave Spider-Man with issue #240 and Spider-Men II with issue #5. Bendis’s run on Defenders will end with #10.

As for his creator-owned projects with Marvel, like Powers, Bendis pledged more focus on them and seemed to hint that they will be moving elsewhere in another Tumblr post: “announcements in the new year, but a BIG part of this change is a rededication to ALL our creator owned projects. and a BUNCH of new ones. its all VERY exciting.”
