April is around the corner, and Hollywood news is getting warmer. Time for a round-up!
Even more cast members include the new Fantastic Four (see "'Fantastic Four' ") as well as Thunderbolts' stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova; David Harbour as Red Guardian; Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent; Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost; and Lewis Pullman as the mysterious Bob. Simu Liu will also reprise the role of Shang-Chi, Tenoch Huerta Mejia will be Namor, and as previously announced, Robert Downey Jr. will be Doctor Doom (see "Robert Downey Jr. is Doom in 'Avengers'").
Sony Pictures set a date for the release of the Legend of Zelda live action movie, according to Variety. This movie, based on the popular Nintendo video game franchise (see "'Legend of Zelda' Live-Action Movie"), will hit theaters on March 26, 2027.
Netflix has ordered a live action Scooby-Doo series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series, first floated by Netflix in May 2024 (see "'Scooby-Doo'"), will be executive produced by Greg Berlanti, and Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg will serve as showrunners. This new series order comes just over five months after Mindy Kaling's Velma was cancelled at Max (see "'Velma' Sent Packing").
Sony Pictures has removed Legendary's Street Fighter movie from the calendar, according to Variety. This movie was supposed to arrive in theaters on March 20, 2026 (see "Best in Shows -- 2026").
Crunchyroll released a teaser trailer for the final season of My Hero Academia (see below). In this season, the fate of the world will be determined by a final showdown between Deku and Shigaraki. The final season will stream on Crunchyroll in October 2025. Also, a My Hero Academia spinoff will hit Crunchyroll on April 7, 2025 (see "'My Hero Academia' Trailers").
Lucasfilm released a final trailer for Star Wars: Andor Season 2 (see below). The new season, starring Diego Luna, will be headed to streaming on April 22, 2025 (see "'Star Wars: Andor'").
